Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT) library has two branches, one in SIFT Songjiang Campus, and the ot
her in SIFT Gubei Campus. With an area of 15691 square kilometers, SIFT library has 14 reading rooms, with a total of
1059 seats. There are Chinese collections and foreign collections in both campus branches.
The mission of SIFT library is to provide better services for staff, students and the general public. With a
history of over twenty years, SIFT library now boasts valuable collections of resources covering an extensive range of disciplines and subjects, featuring particularly on international economy, international trade, marketing, business management, foreign languages and literature, international economic law and international finance. Our resources
and services exist to support the learning, teaching, research, scholarship and other activities of the University. Through our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, we intend to provide a service quality and environment appropriate to a world-class University.
IFT library has 1.27 million books, in both Chinese and foreign languages, in addition to 1 million E-books, 1000 Chinese and foreign periodicals and 100 newspapers. We also have a wide collections of E-resources, such as CNKI database (Tsinghua), EBSCO full-text database, LexisNexis and PQDT.
With Huiwen literature management system, SIFT library can provide around-the-clock online services, including inquiry, document supply and subject search. A “Green Channel” is provided for over 200 key researchers at SIFT, through which they can receive tailored services in locating and obtaining specific resources. We also provide email alerts to the latest additions to our collections. SIFT library offers targeted training programs to staff and students.
SIFT library provides reading services for 96 hours a week. Interlending is enabled between the two branches at the two SIFT campuses. Electronic resources can be searched and accessed in our E-reading rooms, which can also be used for teaching and training purposes.
