The International Business School as the leading supporting force for the academic research of SUIBE has focused on international trade, finance, management, cooperation and governance, and played a leading role in building an open economic discipline group with applied economics as the leader and the synergy of economics, management, humanities, law, science, and engineering. The School has a strong scientific research atmosphere, regularly organizes academic seminars in the College, and focuses on the application and development of the doctoral program in applied economics to continuously condenses research characteristics and advantages. It has formed teaching and research teams in the fields of service-oriented trade, new trade theory, trade and space, trade and intellectual property protection, systems and development, global value chain, multilateral trading regime, national economy, and international business environment and policies, and produced several nationally influential research results. Our faculty members have been the principles of many academic projects, including 3major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), 1major project of the Ministry of Education in philosophy and social science, 20-plus projects of the NSSFC, and the Natural Science Foundation of China, and 100-odd general projects of the Ministry of Education or at other provincial/ministerial levels. They have published more than 200 high-level academic papers in and outside of China, like American Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, Economic Research Journal, Management World, China Economic Quarterly, and The Journal of World Economy. Some of their achievements have been recognized by the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences, Shanghai Municipal Outstanding Achievement Award in Decision Making and Consulting, the Ministry of Commerce's Business Research Achievement Award, the Anzhiji International Trade Research Award, the Mundell-Huang Prize, the T.K.Ann International Trade Award, Hong Yinxing Economics Prize, and the 10 Best National Doctoral Dissertations in Economics.
