Among 162 faculty and staff member of the School, there are 145 front-line teachers. There are 81 faculty members with senior professional titles, accounting for 55.86% of the total, and 76 members with doctoral degrees, accounting for 52.41%. In the faculty team, there are 2 teachers granted the title of Senior Translator”, 1 teacher the title of Shanghai High-level Talent, 3 teachers elected into the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program, 7 teachers awarded the Baosteel Excellent Teacher, 3 teachers granted the Shanghai Yucai Award, 1 teacher entitled as Songjiang District Leading Talent and 5 SUIBE role model teachers. More than 10 teachers of the School have won various awards in teaching competitions at national and municipal levels.

The School has engaged Huang Youyi, Executive Vice President of the Translators Association of China as the guest professor of SUIBE on a long-term basis to guide and promote academic discipline development. We have invited academic discipline consultants from China and other countries to give lectures and train our teachers, and have maintained the practice of employing native speakers as teachers. In addition, we have engaged experts from relevant enterprises and industries to instruct our graduate students. The Centre for Language Education and Assessment Research, founded and led by Professor Cai Yuyang has invited 16 UK and US scholars to collaborate on research.
