The School of Chinese International Education, formerly known as the School of International Studies, was established in June 2002and adopted its current name in 2022.

The School offers a bachelor’s program in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(Business Chinese Orientation) and is responsible for recruiting international students of all majors and for the Chinese language education of international students under the leadership of the SUIBE Overseas Students’ Affairs Office.

The major work of the School includes 1) academic education of international undergraduates majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (Business Chinese) and Chinese courses of other majors in SUIBE; 2) hosting exchange programs under the guidance of Overseas Students’ Affairs Office, including contacting and admitting students from foreign cooperative institutions and selecting students to foreign partnering schools; 3) Chinese learning program for international students; 4) the organization and implementation of study tours under the guidance of Overseas Students’ Affairs Office, mainly for selecting students to well-known foreign schools for short-term programs.

Relying on the research and teaching advantages of SUIBE in business and economics, the School focuses on the design and implementation of business Chinese education to fully present our distinctive features and advantages. The pragmatic and effective learning materials and the practice- and application-oriented teaching methods closely integrate language learning, cultural exchanges, and interpersonal communication, which enables learners to master basic Chinese knowledge and skills, and further form their language and communication advantage in economics, trade, and business. We boast a professional, well-experienced, and committed faculty composed of full-time and adjunct teachers.
