On the morning of May 29, a delegation from Oriental Publishing Center (OPC), headed by Chen Yiwang, OPC Party Secretary and Executive Director and Song Weifeng, Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection and Deputy General Manager of OPC, visited SUIBE for inspection and exchanges. Wu Yi, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, attended the seminar.

Wu Yi extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefed them on SUIBE’s school-running features, strengths and achievements. He noted that both sides should take this seminar as an opportunity to advance in-depth and pragmatic cooperation in Party building, academic publishing, asset coordination and joint talent training. The two parties should jointly forge a sound partnership featuring geographic proximity, professional integration and cultural affinity, and strive to better serve national strategies and the urban development of Shanghai.

Chen Yiwang expressed gratitude for SUIBE’s warm reception and fruitful exchanges, and fully endorsed the four established cooperation priorities. For Party building and cultural cooperation, the two sides should expand joint activities and explore initiatives for shared reading and joint construction of campus reading rooms. In academic publishing and exchanges, they should draw on the university’s think tank strengths to co-build featured academic collections and promote journal development. In terms of regional asset coordination and industrial cooperation, both sides should renovate old buildings in the Gubei area, gather overseas-oriented businesses and boost industrial transformation and upgrading. As for talent development and exchanges, they should set up a joint practical training platform, share resources and streamline pathways for talent training and recruitment.

Both sides held in-depth discussions on key cooperation areas and reached broad consensus. Witnessed by all attendees, Wu Yi and Chen Yiwang signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on behalf of their respective organizations.
