On the afternoon of April 23, Ye Jun, Special Commissioner of the Office of the Ministry of Commerce in Shanghai, led a delegation to SUIBE for research and exchange. A seminar was hosted, which was presided over by SUIBE President Wang Rongming.

Wang Rongming stated that the university is making coordinated efforts to ensure the effective implementation of breakthrough measures in comprehensive reform and to get off to a good start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030). He hopes that both sides would conduct joint research on the development of new trade models, enterprise compliance construction, and industrial chain security, to enhance synergy and mutual empowerment, generate high-quality outcomes and make new and greater contributions to serving national strategies such as high-standard opening-up.

Ye Jun expressed his gratitude for the university’s strong support for the work of the Office. He hopes that, based on the two sides' previous cooperation, they would deepen research collaboration and strengthen coordination in export control compliance to help get off to a good start in promoting high-quality development of commerce during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and make new and greater contributions to serving national strategies and regional development.

During the seminar, Hong Xiaodong, Researcher of the WTO Chair Institute (China) and former Director-General of the Department of WTO Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce, proposed cooperation ideas with a focus on the principle of “s understanding the broad trends and finding the real specifics.” The two sides held in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as joint research projects, the cultivation of urgently-needed talents, and think tank cooperation.
