On April 20, the launch ceremony of the third “International Chinese Month”, was held at the Shanghai Hongqiao One-Stop Service Center for Overseas Talent, which marked the 17th UN Chinese Language Day under the theme “Language Sharing Brings Hearts Together”. The ceremony was jointly hosted by SUIBE and the Talent Service Center of Changning district. Xu Yonglin, Vice President of SUIBE and Jiang Yingyi from International Cooperation Division of the Shanghai Municipal Talent Bureau attended the ceremony. The ceremony was chaired by Yu Yana, Deputy Secretary of SUIBE School of International Chinese Education.

During the ceremony, Xu Yonglin noted that the theme this year’s UN Chinese Language Day, “Chinese Language, Shining Civilizations” profoundly highlights the unique value of the Chinese language in connecting the world and people-to-people exchanges. He hopes to deepen cooperation with the Talent Service Center of Changning District and jointly create a new model of enterprise-university cooperation, leveraging initiatives such as “Cultural Workshops” and “Chinese Corners” to align talent cultivation with regional development needs. He hopes that the School of International Chinese Education can work closely with relevant administrative departments of the university and seize the opportunities presented at the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan, so as to enhance educational capacity and make enterprise-university cooperation substantive, in-depth, and dynamic. He also hopes that students of SUIBE can cultivate a strong sense of patriotism, hone their skills and foster sentiment in real teaching scenarios, and strive to grow into high-quality versatile talents with both patriotism and global perspective, becoming communicators of language and culture, promoters of inter-civilization exchanges, and enhancers of friendship.

The attending officials jointly launched the third “International Chinese Month”.

The third “International Chinese Month” features two major categories, “Cultural Workshop” and “Chinese Corner”, which roll out 13 branded events, including “Neighborhood Tea Party on Chinese Festivals,” “Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Activities,” “Encounter Shanghai,” and “China in My Eyes” Short Video Competition. These activities aim to advance the cultivation of talent in international Chinese education, serve national strategies, and promote mutual learning among civilizations.
