From April 17 to 19, SUIBE held the 2026 Executive Council Meeting and Academic Seminarof the experimental design sub-association of the Chinese Association for Applied Statistics (CAAS). More than 60 experts and scholars in the experimental design field from over 40 universities and research institutions attended the seminar.
SUIBE President Wang Rongming attended and addressed the opening ceremony. He briefly introduced the university’s development history, discipline development, and distinctive educational features in cultivating international business and economic talents, think tank services, and decision-making consultation, with a special focus on the latest progress in the statistics discipline. He noted that the convening of this seminar serves as a concrete step to advance the development of the statistics discipline and promote interdisciplinary integration. It also holds significant practical importance and long-term strategic value for elevating research levels in the field of experimental design and strengthening the cultivation of high-level talent. He hopes that the attending experts would offer more valuable advice and suggestions for the development of the discipline, academic research, and talent cultivation of the School of Statistics and Data Science.
During an academic report session, 28 young scholars from Nankai University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, National University of Defense Technology, Qufu Normal University, and other institutions delivered reports on cutting-edge topics such as experimental design, big data analysis, machine learning, causal inference, and industrial statistics.Translated by Feng Ru
