On the afternoon of April 15th, Shen Weihua, Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, led a delegation to SUIBE for research and exchange. A symposium was held, which was attended and presided over by Wang Rongming, President of SUIBE.
Wang Rongming stated that currently, SUIBE is committed to cultivating outstanding foreign trade and economic talents for the new era, who are well-rounded, have solid professional foundations, outstanding practical innovation and cross-cultural competence, and possess international perspectives, patriotic sentiments, and scientific and humanistic literacy. He expects both the Commission and the university to focus on areas such as think tank cooperation and thematic research, industrial services and exhibition cooperation, and advanced training and digital-intelligent synergy, deepening pragmatic cooperation to jointly serve national strategies and the high-quality economic and social development of Shanghai.
Shen Weihua noted that SUIBE is highly aligned with the working needs of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and the two sides enjoy a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation. He hopes both sides will further focus on key areas such as comprehensive services for enterprises going global, research on country-specific policies, response to economic and trade frictions, digital and green trade, and the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents. By precisely matching industrial needs and deepening the integration of enterprises, universities, research institutions, and end users, the two sides can jointly solve key and difficult problems in commercial development.
At the meeting, SUIBE experts delivered speeches and exchanged views on the cultivation of high-quality economic and trade talents, the construction and operation of think tanks, scientific research, and the construction of the Eastern Hub Open Source Innovation International Cooperation Demonstration Zone.
