SUIBE Receives Delegation Led by Chairman Fang Jun of Commission on Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Education of China Education Association for International Exchange

On March 19, Fang Jun, Chairman of the Commission on Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Education of the China Education Association for International Exchange and former Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Chinese Ministry of Education, led a delegation to visit SUIBE. The delegation also included Yang Hao, President of China International Education Institute, Dai Xingtian, Director of the Institute's general office, and Gao Ling, Executive Director of the UNITAR SDGs Center Singapore. SUIBE President Wang Rongming attended and presided over a symposium.


Wang Rongming welcomed the delegation, expressed his gratitude to the China Education Association for International Exchange and relevant organizations for their long-term care, guidance and support for the development of SUIBE, and introduced the achievements of the university's characteristic development and its deepening comprehensive reform in recent years. He looked forward to taking this symposium as an opportunity to further promote practical cooperation between the two parties in talent training reform, the development of high-level internationalized faculty, and the development of Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions, so the two sides can better contribute to building China into a stronger country.


Fang Jun expressed his gratitude to SUIBE for its warm reception and commended the outstanding achievements made by SUIBE in foreign economics and trade, especially in think tank development. He said that this is a strategic opportunity period to promote Chinese-foreign cooperative education, hoping that SUIBE will seize the opportunity to complete relevant procedures for establishing Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions, and better leverage their strengths in resource pooling and international coordination. He also called for innovation in the systems and mechanisms for integrating industry with education and science with education, in an effort to make new and greater contributions to the opening up of the education sector.


Guests attending the symposium shared information on organizations and their related projects including the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the International Trade Centre (ITC). The two parties exchanged views and held discussions on topics such as resource platform development, international curriculum design, cutting-edge research, international competition empowerment, and advanced training programs.
