On March 6, SUIBE held a meeting to commemorate the 116th anniversary of the International Working Women’s Day in the Siyuan Lecture Hall. Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and chairman of the trade union Wu Yi attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
On behalf of SUIBE, Wu Yi extended holiday greetings and best wishes to all females of the university, and congratulated the collectives and individuals who were commended. Regarding the work ahead, Wu Yi requested the females of the university to stick to their original aspiration and be “believers” with firm political stance, dare to innovate and create and be “strivers” for career development, and pool the strength of women and be “companions” who unite and forge ahead.
At the meeting, a decision on commendation in the women’s system was read out, and subsequently the advanced collectives and individuals that emerged in the past year were commended.
At noon, a themed event in the square was held to offer unique festive greetings to all the female faculty and students through diverse activities such as blessing exchanges, a spring market, and colorful experiences. Teachers and students shared the joy of the festival together in the warm spring sunshine.
