On the afternoon of December 22, the Council Meeting of the Confucius Institute Ljubljanain Slovenia (CI Ljubljana) was held online at the Changning Campus of SUIBE. Xu Yonglin, Vice President of SUIBE, and other Chinese council members, together with Gregor Majdic, Chairman of the Foreign Council of CI Ljubljana and President of the University of Ljubljana, along with other foreign council members, attended the meeting. XuYonglin stated that two universities successfully renewed cooperation agreement for CI Ljubljana last year. In 2025, under the leadership of Dean Danijela Voljc, the team of CI Ljubljana has worked diligently to actively promote Chinese teaching and disseminate Chinese culture in Slovenia, making important contributions to enhancing cultural and people-to-people exchanges and economic and trade relations between China and Slovenia. SUIBE will continue to adhere to its internationalization strategy and looks forward to jointly expanding cooperation with the University of Ljubljana in fields such as applied statistics, data science, and artificial intelligence empowerment. Meanwhile, it will actively promote CI Ljubljana to further highlight its “business-oriented” characteristics and build it into a distinctive benchmark Confucius Institute in Central and Eastern Europe.
GregorMajdic pointed out that CI Ljubljana is a bridge of culture and education between Slovenia and China, which is built upon their shared commitment to the two fields. He believes that CI Ljubljana will continue to achieve sound development in the future. He expressed his gratitude to DirectorDanijelaVoljc for her hard work, hoping all parties would continue cooperation to create a better future.
In accordance with the meeting agenda, all council members listened to, reviewed, and approved the 2025 Work Summary and 2026 Work Plan of CI Ljubljana, and conducted in-depth exchanges on recent work plans.
Finally, GregorMajdic stated that he will keep working to deepen cooperation between the two universities and promote the sustainable development of CI Ljubljana. Xu Yonglin said that SUIBE will continue supporting the development of CI Ljubljana and actively promote in-depth cooperation in multiple fields such as language and culture, economic and trade management, artificial intelligence, and statistical information.
