December 5 marked the 40th International Volunteer Day. The 5th “Dedication Cup” Shanghai Youth Volunteer Service Project Competition and the December 5 International Volunteer Day themed event were held at Changning Campus of SUIBE. After multiple rounds of competition and expert review, SUIBE students stood out for their excellent execution and distinctive service features. The “Alley Governance” grassroots governance volunteer service project from the School of Accounting won the Gold Award, while the “Children’s Dream Drawing” volunteer service project from the School of Entrepreneurship received the Silver Award. SUIBE achieved its best-ever results in this year’s competition.

Prior to the event, Qi Ming, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, met with representatives attending the event. He hopes that the competition would provide an opportunity to further deepen cooperation with various parties, jointly build a broader platform for volunteer service practice, and support young people in growing into a new generation of well-rounded talents with both global vision and a strong sense of social responsibility.

Tang Zhiyu, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League Shanghai Municipal Committee, fully acknowledged the university’s exploration and achievements in volunteer service. He encouraged the university to continue leveraging its talent and discipline advantage, promote the professionalization, branding, and normalization of volunteer service, and inject more youthful energy into the advancement of urban civilization and innovation in social governance in Shanghai.
