On the morning of November 6, a delegation from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) visited SUIBE. The delegation included Professor Orlando de la Vega Luna, Head of International Affairs, Professor Giuliano Olguín Contreras, Dean of the Engineering School, and Professor Alberto Farías Castro, Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering. Xu Yonglin, Vice President of SUIBE, met with the delegation.
Xu Yonglin extended a warm welcome to the PUCV delegation and briefed them on SUIBE’s latest developments. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further advance practical cooperation between the two institutions.
Professor Orlando de la Vega Luna expressed gratitude for SUIBE’s warm reception and gave a brief introduction to PUCV’s recent progress as well as the main objectives and schedule of this visit to China. He conveyed strong expectations for deepening exchanges between faculty and students of both universities, elevating bilateral cooperation to a new strategic level and enhancing its quality.
Representatives from both sides held in-depth discussions and reached important consensus on key topics including interdisciplinary talent cultivation, faculty and student exchanges, and the application of artificial intelligence in education. Both parties agreed to focus on deepening practical cooperation in such areas as joint cultivation of innovative talents, faculty research collaboration, and multicultural interactions, so as to open a new chapter in the partnership between the two universities.
