On the afternoon of November 3, SUIBE held a briefing on its foreign affairs policies for the year of 2025 in Conference Room 317 of the Dezheng Building, Songjiang Campus. Wang Rongming, SUIBE president, attended the meeting.

In his speech, Wang Rongming pointed out that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee has elevated “expanding high-standard opening up and creating new prospect of win-win cooperation” to a more significant strategic position. This underscores the urgency and importance of opening up and provides fundamental guidance for the internationalization of higher education institutions. With regard to foreign affairs work during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), Wang Rongming stressed the need to approach such work from an overall perspective and deepen understanding, so as to genuinely strengthen the sense of mission and responsibility in advancing foreign affairs. He underscored the importance of forward-looking planning and sound top-level design to ensure coordinated efforts and the delivery of landmark outcomes. He also called for greater focus on building and leveraging platforms, strengthening resource support, and better serving reforms in talent cultivation. In addition, he emphasized the need to enhance standardized management, safeguard the security red line, and ensure that foreign affairs work proceeds in a steady and orderly manner.
Wang Rongming hopes that SUIBE’s foreign affairs work will achieve high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, making new and greater contributions to serving China’s high-standard opening up and Shanghai's development into a socialist modern city with global influence.
