On the afternoon of October 16th, a delegation led by Jiang Fan, Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee for Education and Health Work, visited SUIBE’s Changning Campus for inspection and guidance. On behalf of the committee, he extended warm congratulations and sincere wishes to SUIBE on its 65th anniversary. Qi Ming, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, Wang Rongming, SUIBE President Wu Yi, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and Vice President Xu Yonglin attended the discussion.
During the discussion, Jiang Fan spoke highly of SUIBE’s achievements and characteristics in running the university over the past 65 years. She emphasized that SUIBE should thoroughly implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and further highlight its distinctive strength in foreign, economic and trade studies in the process of advancing comprehensive education reform and formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan.
On behalf of the SUIBE, Qi Ming expressed sincere gratitude to the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee for Education and Health Work for its long-term care and support. He briefly introduced SUIBE’s 65-year development history, school-running orientation and basic overview, and focused on reporting the progress of the university’s comprehensive reform.
Wang Rongming highlighted SUIBE’s recent achievements in talent cultivation, disciplinary development, industry-education integration, and decision-making consultation. He stated that SUIBE will continue to deepen the reform of talent cultivation, optimize the layout of disciplines and specialties to match the needs of industrial development, strengthen collaborative education and industry-education integration, and constantly improve the efficiency of think tank services.
