SUIBE Explores New Model for Talent Cultivation in International Economy and Trade Innovation & Governance: New Trade Models Industrial School Inaugurated

On the morning of September 17, SUIBE and Orient International (Group) Co., Ltd. Jointly inaugurated the New Trade Models Industrial School at SUIBEs Changning Campus. Zhao Zhen, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Zhang Guohua, Level I Bureau Rank Official of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Tong Jisheng, President of the China Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Enterprises Association, Ji Shengjun, Chairman of the Company Council  and President of Orient International, Qi Ming, Chairman of the Council of SUIBE; Wang Rongming, President of SUIBE; and Nie Qing, former Vice President of Shanghai University and SUIBE attended the inauguration ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Xu Yonglin, Vice President of SUIBE.

Zhao Zhen, Zhang Guohua, and Ji Shengjun delivered speeches on behalf of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and Orient International Group respectively, congratulating the establishment of the New Trade Models Industrial School.

In his address, Qi Ming expressed sincere gratitude and a warm welcome to the attending guests. He stated that the establishment of the New Trade Models Industrial School comes as the right time, and addresses imperatives of national strategies, industrial needs and higher education development. It represents both an opportunity for the university to deepen comprehensive educational reform and a key measure to proactively build a new model for university-enterprise cooperation and better align talent cultivation with market demands. He urged the School to enhance collaboration and openness in three aspects: first, anchor key areas and strengthen strategic university-enterprise synergy; second, focus on two-way flows and innovate university-enterprise collaboration mechanisms; third, promote talent development in accordance with the demand on the job market.

During the ceremony, Ji Shengjun and Wang Rongming jointly unveiled the plaque for the New Trade Models Industrial School. Tong Jisheng and Qi Ming witnessed this important moment.

During an action plan release segment, Shen Kehua, Vice Dean of the SUIBE School of International Business, introduced the New Trade Models Industrial School's positioning and its five major action plans. Tong Jisheng, Ji Shengjun, and Qi Ming presented flags to student representatives. Wang Rongming issued appointment letters to members of the New Trade Models Industrial School's Industry Expert Guidance Committee.

Following the inauguration, members of the Industry Expert Guidance Committee engaged in in-depth discussions on industry-education integration, cultivation of new-type economic and trade talent, cross-border e-commerce, and trade transformation and upgrading.
