On the afternoon of September 10th, SUIBE held a meeting with the theme Carrying Forward the Spirit of Great Educators to Build a Strong Teaching Workforce and Contribute to China’s Pursuit of Educational Excellence to mark the 41th Teachers’ Day and commend staff members in Siyuan Lecture Hall of the Library at the Songjiang Campus. Qi Ming, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE; President Wang Rongming; Wu Yi, Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE; Shen Yi, Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and Vice President; SUIBE Vice President Xu Yonglin, and Chen Weiping, President of Songjiang Experimental School Affiliated to SUIBE, attended the meeting.

On behalf of SUIBE, Wang Rongming extended high respect and sincere greetings to faculty and staff diligently working on the frontlines of teaching, scientific research, and administrative services. He also offered warm congratulations to the commended collectives and individuals. Reflecting on the past year, Wang Rongming highlighted SUIBE’s breakthroughs in scientific research, teaching, and faculty development. He shared three insights on strengthening the high-quality development of the university's education: firstly, cultivating teaching excellence with the ethos of educators to lay a solid foundation for fostering virtue through education; secondly, breaking deadlocks and then blaze a new trail through comprehensive reforms to inspire greater creativity of talents; and thirdly, playing the guiding and supporting role with distinctive strengths to serve national strategies with precision.

At the meeting, Wu Yi read out a decision on commending teachers for the 2024–2025 academic year., and the university leadership presented certificates of honor to recipients of the 2025 Siyuan Model Award and other awards.

Professor Huang Jianzhong, a representative of the award-winning teachers and recipient of the university’s first Siyuan Model Award, shared his original aspiration in education and reflections on teaching, drawing on nearly four decades of experience in the profession during an interview.

At the conference, Wu Yi and five teacher representatives jointly launched the 2025 Teacher Ethics and Conduct Promotion Month series of activities.
