From September 4 to 5, SUIBE held the 2025 Fall Semester Planning Meeting and Faculty Conference in Room 506 of the Comprehensive Building at the Changning Campus. With the theme of Confidence and Solidarity for New Chapter and Boosting Vitality to Promote Reform, the meeting was attended by university leaders and middle-level management. Qi Ming, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, delivered a summary speech, and Wang Rongming, SUIBE President, made a mobilization speech. Wu Yi, Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE; Zhang Yiguo, Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission and Shen Yi, Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and Vice President, along with SUIBE Vice President Xu Yonglin, presided over relevant segments and provided commentary on keynote reports respectively.

Qi Ming delivered the concluding remarks entitled Carrying Out Key Reform Tasks and Drawing the Blueprint for the 15th Five-Year Plan. Centering on key tasks such as the advancement of the university's comprehensive reform, he put forward requirements and laid out arrangements. He urged the attendees to enhance their political stance and deeply comprehend the deployment requirements of relevant meetings on deepening the implementation of comprehensive reform. He requested them to clarify mission requirements, grasp the key points, and make solid progress in the implementation of key tasks of comprehensive reform. He also required the attendees to strengthen Party building, fulfill responsibilities, and take prudent steps to the university's reform and development.

In his mobilization speech, Wang Rongming noted that the central task of the current comprehensive reform is to improve the alignment between talent cultivation and industry needs. He stressed the need to closely align with major national strategies such as building China into a leading country in trade in services, advancing Shanghai’s development into the “five centers”, and promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. The university should develop sound plans oriented toward relevant sectors and industries, accelerate efforts to build a leading business university befitting an international metropolis, and become a key force in supporting high-standard opening-up.

Yang Jie, Director of the Higher Education Division of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, was invited to deliver a keynote report titled How to Achieve Excellence, and by What Means to Become Self-Reliant: The Situation and Tasks of Higher Education Reform. Professor Yao Lingzhen, Vice Chairman of the University Council and Vice President of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was invited to give a keynote report entitled Promoting AI-Empowered Higher Education in Finance and Economics for the New Era.
