On April 19th, the “Retracing Ancient Trade Routes, Advancing Digital and Sustainable Development” Yangtze River Delta Alumni Forum of SUIBE took place in Jixi, Anhui Province. SUIBE President Wang Rongming attended the forum and delivered a speech, joined by over 60 alumni representatives from the Yangtze River Delta region.
In his address, Wang Rongming highlighted SUIBE’s notable achievements in recent years in discipline construction, talent cultivation, scientific research, and other areas. He expressed hope that alumni would continue to contribute their wisdom and efforts to advancing the university’s comprehensive reforms. He also outlined three key expectations for the alumni association: first, to foster close collaboration and shared progress; second, to rally collective strength for common development; and third, to leverage alumni’s unique advantages to take on greater responsibilities. Concluding his remarks, Wang extended an invitation for alumni to reunite at their alma mater for its upcoming 65th anniversary celebration.
Yan Qiong, speaking on behalf of the SUIBE Alumni Association, presented an overview of the association’s 2024 initiatives.
During a keynote speech session, He Huanlang delivered a speech titled Progress and Prospects of China’s Domestic-Foreign Trade Integration Under Reciprocal Tariff Policies, offering an in-depth analysis of China’s economic reform landscape and future directions under tariff policies from both practical and theoretical perspectives. Lu Xiankun, a Class of 1989 alumnus from the Foreign Languages Department, addressed The Future Direction of WTO and International Trade in the Trump 2.0 Era, decoding the current international trade landscape under US reciprocal tariff policies.
The forum also featured in-depth discussions among alumni on strengthening regional collaboration, fostering synergistic growth among alumni enterprises, and advancing partnerships between SUIBE and local enterprises and research institutions in the Yangtze River Delta.
