On February 14th, SUIBE and Anhui Provincial Department of Commerce signed an agreement to co-establish a business research institute at SUIBE’s Changning Campus. It also marked the first meeting of the institute’s working committee. Sun Donghai, head of Anhui Provincial Department of Commerce, Wang Rongming, SUIBE President, Jiang Xiuzhen, SUIBE Vice President, and representatives from both institutions attended the event.
In his address, Wang Rongming acknowledged Anhui’s remarkable achievements in commercial development, particularly in expanding high-level opening-up and forging new frontiers in reform and opening-up. He expressed hope that the partnership would align with Anhui’s demand for high-quality development of its open economy, deepen collaboration in areas such as innovation in international economic and trade rules and forward-looking business policy research, and contribute to Anhui’s efforts to advance a broader agenda of wider and deeper opening up.
Sun Donghai praised SUIBE as a prestigious institution in China’s foreign trade and economic sector, renowned for its academic excellence, talent cultivation, and research output. He outlined three key tasks for the joint institute. First, conducting targeted research to inform Anhui’s 15th Five-Year Plan for commercial development and government decision-making; Second, fostering talent exchanges through joint training programs and secondment initiatives; and third, enhancing institutional collaboration by leveraging the institute to boost think tank capabilities, industry-academia integration, and global engagement among Anhui’s commerce-related colleges.
During the ceremony, Sun Donghai and Wang Rongming signed the cooperation agreement and unveiled the institute’s plaque, marking the official establishment of the partnership.
