SUIBE, Orient International (Holding) Co., Ltd. Co-establish Institute of “Dual Circulation, Unified Market Studies”

On the morning of February 12th, 2025, SUIBE and Orient International (Holding) Co., Ltd. jointly inaugurated an institute of “Dual circulation and Unified market studies” at SUIBE’s Changning Campus. The attendees included Xie Dong, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Wang Ping, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal Government, Zhao Zhen, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. Qi Ming, Chairman of the Council of SUIBE, Wang Rongming, President of SUIBE, Xu Yonglin, Vice President of SUIBE, and Tong Jisheng, Chairman of Oriental International, Ji Shengjun, President of Oriental International, and Xue Jifeng, Deputy Chairman of the Corporate Council of Oriental International were also present.


 

In his address, Qi Ming expressed sincere gratitude and warm welcome to the attending leaders and guests. He stated that since Shanghai municipal government convened an industry-education integration conference in 2024, both parties have accelerated strategic collaboration, signing a cooperation agreement in June last year to advance the establishment of a college of new trade formats studies and to build a model for industry-education integration in international economics and trade. He expects the institute of Dual Circulation and Unified Market studies to strengthen SUIBE’s distinctive strengths in relevant areas, drive comprehensive reforms, enhance talent cultivation, and provide new vitality to the university’s development. Qi Ming urged the institute to deeply integrate into national strategies, create platforms for collaborative research with innovation, align with industrial demands, innovate institutional mechanisms for integration of businesses and universities, and refine the talent development framework.


 

In his speech, Tong Jisheng expressed a warm welcome and sincere gratitude on behalf of Orient International to the leaders and guests for their presence. He outlined the Institute’s three objectives: researching global industry trends to propose policy recommendations; exploring innovative practices to establish new theories for foreign trade development; and uniting universities, enterprises, research institutions and the user end and fostering synergy between policies and theoretical studies to cultivate next-generation trade professionals. He highlighted the need to study trade policy shifts in Europe, the U.S., ASEAN, Africa, and Latin America, as well as Shanghai’s role in upgrading foreign trade and advancing the dual circulation strategy. He hopes that both sides can achieve greater breakthroughs in talent cultivation, project application, and cooperation channels. He also called for continuous innovation of cooperation platforms, positive image presentation, and the delivery of outstanding results.


 

During the ceremony, Wang Rongming and Ji Shengjun jointly unveiled the Institute’s plaque and signed a co-establishment agreement, witnessed by Xie Dong, Wang Ping, Zhao Zhen, Qi Ming, and Tong Jisheng.
