On January 13th, the 4th session of the 2nd Faculty and Staff Congress and Labor Union Congress of SUIBE was convened at the Songjiang Campus. Qi Ming, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, Wang Rongming, SUIBE President, Wu Yi, Deputy Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and Chairman of the Labor Union, Zhang Yiguo, Deputy Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, Shen Yi, Deputy Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and Vice President, Vice Presidents Xu Yonglin and Jiang Xiuzhen attended the congress. Zhang Hui, Chairman of School Council of SUIBE-affiliated Songjiang Experimental School, joint the event upon invitation. A total of 108 official delegates from the Faculty and Staff Congress and Labor Union Congress participated in the meeting.
Qi Ming delivered a congratulation speech on behalf of the Council of SUIBE and raised three expectations.First, to enhance political alignment and drive development through collective empowerment; Second, to spearhead reform initiatives and advance the comprehensive reform agenda; and third, to strengthen organizational leadership and elevate governance efficacy. He urged all delegates to work decisively, unite efforts, and lead faculty members in making greater contributions to the university’s growth.
Wang Rongming presented an administrative work report titled Charting the Blueprint for Comprehensive Reform with a Strategic Vision, Accumulating Momentum through Grounded Efforts. The report reviewed SUIBE’s achievements since 2024, analyzed macro trends, and outlined administrative priorities for 2025. It also summarized measures taken in 2024 to safeguard the rights and interests of faculty and students, alongside plans for the upcoming year.
Wu Yi reported on the annual work of the 2nd Labor Union Committee in his speech titled Uniting Efforts, Upholding Principles and Innovating to Elevate Labor Union Work. Xu Yonglin presented the university’s financial report. During the second plenary session, a congress resolution was adopted by vote.
The congress called on all faculty and staff to take comprehensive reform as an engine for driving a new phase of high-quality development. It emphasized aligning SUIBE’s strengths with national strategies and regional socio-economic needs, aiming to deliver greater contributions to building China into a strong nation in education and trade.
