SUIBE holds 2024 Annual Summary Meeting of Policy-advisory Consultation Research Base No.001, Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Education and Health

On January 9th , the 2024 annual summary meeting of the Policy-advisory Consultation Research Base No. 001, Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Education and Health was held in Room 326 of the Comprehensive Building at SUIBE’s Gubei Campus. Gu Hongliang, Deputy Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Education and Health and Deputy Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and Wang Rongming, President of SUIBE, attended and addressed the event.

Wang Rongming reviewed the Base’s achievements over the past year. He emphasized that the university and the Base have adhered to the Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Education and Health’s directive to build an “experimental plot” and “show flat,” focusing on two pillars: expanding think tank influence and cultivating young talents in decision-making consultation. Proactive explorations were made in four areas: decision-making consultation research, youth talent development, think tank talent evaluation mechanisms, and operational support systems. Moving forward, the Base will prioritize nurturing core competencies in decision-making consultation professionals, refine evaluation frameworks, and strengthen institutionalized management to achieve further advancements.

The meeting also featured a graduation ceremony for the Base’s first young decision-making talents from Shanghai universities and the launch of training for the second batch of participants.

In his concluding remarks, Gu Hongliang commended the Base for driving transformative shifts in decision-making consultation research paradigms and pioneering institutional innovations in youth talent development. He urged the Base to deepen a Quaternity development strategy, center on the theme of “international economic trade innovation and governance.” This includes expanding field research, refining institutional mechanisms, empowering young professionals, and delivering more talent and high-quality outcomes for Shanghai’s higher education decision-making consultation endeavors.
