On January 8th,the 2024 Annual Conference of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Research Association (SIPRA) and the Symposium on Foreign-Related Intellectual Property were successfully held at SUIBE’s Gubei Campus. Wang Rongming, SUIBE President, Yu Chen, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Office, and Professor Shan Xiaoguang, Chairman of SIPRA, delivered remarks.
Wang Rongming extended congratulations on the event and expressed gratitude to the Shanghai Intellectual Property Office and SIPRA. He highlighted SUIBE’s collaborative efforts with the Shanghai Intellectual Property Office in establishing the Shanghai Joint Research Institute for Intellectual Property, emphasizing the university’s commitment to advancing research, education, and practice in the field. He called on participants to share insights and perspectives, thus fostering intellectual support for Shanghai to build a global hub for international intellectual property protection and enhance high-level opening up.
Yu Chen of the SIPRA extended congratulations on the annual conference and called on the Research Association to deepen practical studies, enhance its advisory capacity for government and enterprises,make good use of own advantages and proactively undertake research projects commissioned by enterprises and social organizations to drive innovative solutions.
The meeting included a 2024 work summary by Secretary-General of SIPRA Xu Weihua and a financial report by Zhang Lingxia, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of SIPRA.
During the symposium, keynote speeches were delivered by Ma Zhongfa, SIPRA Vice Chairman and Professor at the School of Law at Fudan University, WuJian, SIPRA Vice Chairman and Managing Partner of Shanghai Duan & Duan Law Firm, and Xue Qi, Managing Partner of Beshining Law Firm.
