On November 20th, SUIBE received the delegation led by Nebojsa Stojcic, President of the University of Dubrovnik (DNIDU), Marija Pecarevic, Vice President of UNIDU, and Jurica Pavicic, Vice President of the University of Zagreb (UNIZG). SUIBE President Wang Rongming met with the delegation, accompanied by heads of the International Affairs Office, the School of International Organizations (School of Trade Negotiation), and the Research Institute of International Trade Innovation and Governance.
Wang Rongming warmly welcomed the guests from Croatia and briefed on the international development and distinctive features of SUIBE. He said SUIBE focuses on the coordinated discipline development, and has formed a development pattern driven by both applied economics and statistics. While adhering to an internationalization strategy, SUIBE also emphasizes the role played by “internationalization” in the development of disciplines and major construction, and actively leverages the application of AI and digital technologies to enhance established academic strengths.
Wang Rongming reviewed his visit to UNIZG and UNIDU in November 2023, and the visit to SUIBE by the Croatian university presidents' delegation in April 2024. He believes that the establishment of a formal partnership between SUIBE and UNIDU will usher in a new chapter of cooperation between the two universities. With joint efforts, their collaboration will surely yield fruitful results, making a positive contribution to promoting Sino-Croatia educational cooperation and exchange, and enhancing people-to-people friendship between the two countries.
President Stojcic thanked SUIBE for its hospitality and shared the basic information about UNIDU. He stated that formal partnership between the two universities is not only a bridge of cultural exchange between the institutions but also a platform for cooperation between their respective regions. The two universities enjoy great potential for cooperation in economics, exhibition management, and international trade majors, and he looks forward to more in-depth cooperation with SUIBE in areas such as summer schools, student and faculty exchanges, the Erasmus+ program, doctoral training in digital economy, joint research, and the establishment of a Confucius ClassroomInstitute.
After the meeting, Wang Rongming and President Stojcic signed a memorandum of understanding.
