On October 29, a see-off ceremony for SUIBE's volunteers serving the 7th China International Import Expo and the establishment ceremony of the temporary Party and Youth League branch of the volunteer service team was held in Lecture Hall 526 of the Graphic and Information Building on Songjiang Campus. Qi Ming, Chairman of the University Council, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Guo Qian, director of Publicity Department (Party Committee); Xu Jiliang, director of the United Front Work Department (Party committee); Zhang Rong, director of the School Office; Miao Yundi, director of Student (Postgraduates) Affairs Department; Fan Dengfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Administrative Office; Hao Chengcheng, deputy director of the Graduate School; Zhang Yan, deputy director of Organization Department (Party Committee); Wang Lei, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office; Situ Liyun, Secretary of the Youth League; deputy secretaries of the Party organizations of the schools, heads of the Youth League, and all the CIIE volunteers attended the ceremony.
Qi Ming highly praised the efforts and achievements made by SUIBE's faculty and students in supporting scientific research, providing decision-making advice for think tanks, and engaging in volunteer service for the CIIE. In particular, SUIBE's volunteers have become a beautiful landscape at the CIIE with their high-quality volunteer service.
He put forward three expectations for SUIBE's volunteers:
Firstly, he hoped that students would fulfill the solemn promise of The CIIE continued success in the years to come. with a high sense of responsibility. They should always maintain a high morale, apply what they have learned to what they do at the event, and showcase the spirit and characters of Shanghai, and enhance the city's soft power.
Secondly, he hoped that students would acquire solid skills through practical experience in this walking classroom. They should learn as they offer services, study through dedication, gain insights into the policies of the Party and the country, understand national and social conditions, broaden their international horizons, and enhance their professional expertise through practical exercises at the front lines of the CIIE.
Thirdly, he hoped that party and youth league organizations would play a leading and unifying role in strengthening party building and youth league building. They should strengthen the identity and responsibility awareness of party members and youth league members, keep in mind their service mission, and strengthen their determination to engage in volunteer work.
