On the afternoon of October 22nd, President Wang Rongming met with Professor Steven McGuire, Vice President of the University of East Anglia (UEA), and Ms. Karen Blackney, Deputy Director of Global Affairs, on the Gubei Campus.
Wang Rongming warmly welcomed Vice President Steven McGuire and the delegation. He said that since the 1990s, SUIBE has jointly held a number of multi-level Sino-foreign cooperative education programs with foreign universities such as Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. He expressed his hope that the two universities would work together to push for more effects of the two sides' international development strategies and to better contribute to the extensive cooperation between China and the UK in t humanities, education, economy and trade.
Steven McGuire expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and provided a brief overview of the UEA. He said that UEA attaches great importance to internationalization and hopes to carry out activities and projects such as talent cultivation and joint scientific research with more Chinese universities, including SUIBE. He said he looks forward to deepening collaboration with SUIBE.
During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on future cooperation priorities and implementation plans.
