SUIBE Holds Event to Celebrate 75th Anniversary of Founding of People’s Republic of China, Opening Ceremony of 10th Campus Culture and Art Festival

On the afternoon of September 29th, SUIBE held an event to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, which was also the opening ceremony of the 10th Campus Culture and Art Festival on its Songjiang Campus. Qi Ming, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, Wang Rongming, President of SUIBE, Wu Yi, Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, Zhang Yiguo, Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE and secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, Jiang Xiuzhen and Xu Yonglin, Vice Presidents of SUIBE and Chen Weiping, President of Songjiang Experimental School Affiliated to SUIBE attended the event.


Qi Ming delivered a speech on behalf of SUIBE. He reviewed the great achievements made by China under the leadership of the Communist Party of China over the past 75 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and SUIBE’s contributions to China’s opening-up at different periods since the establishment of the university. He elaborated on the new requirements for SUIBE’s development as outlined by the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC and the National Education Conference, encouraging all faculty students, and staff to embrace the new journey and work together to build China into an educational and technological powerhouse with a quality workforce.


The event included five major sections, featuring thematic presentations and art performances on Chinas development. In the thematic presentations, lecturer representatives of the five courses of Humanities in China, An Open China, Trade in China, Rule of Law in China, and Digital China, delivered speeches respectively, providing an impressive “ideological and political theory course” for the teachers and students present.


SUIBE teachers and students, retired teachers, and students from the affiliated School presented a variety of performances during the event, including ethnic dance, chorus, ensemble singing, selected excerpts from the master play Qiu Shaoheng, folk music, Western music, and accordion performances. Wang Rongming sang the folk song Father’s Grassland and Mother’s Stream, extending his most sincere blessings to the motherland. As the event came to an end, a national flag relay brought the atmosphere to a peak. The event concluded successfully with a chorus of Love My China sung by all present.
