On the afternoon of September 26th, SUIBE convened a thematic meeting on enhancing the quality of professional degree education on the Songjiang Campus. Qi Ming, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, President Wang Rongming, and Vice President Jiang Xiuzhen attended the meeting.
In his mobilization speech, Qi Ming affirmed the main achievements made by the university in professional degree research and education over the past fifteen years and pointed out the problems and challenges encountered in the development process. He said that in conjunction with the feedback and rectification work from this round of inspections, and aiming at the new journey of higher education, the university should make developing higher education to its full potential a university-wide consensus, and promote the upgrading and transformation of the university's professional degree education.
He encouraged all schools to focus on the strategic need and economic and social development of the country, continuously improve the quality of professional degree talent training, and make new contributions to building an “SUIBE model” for the training of professional degree graduate students.
Wang Rongming said the university should approach this from a strategic perspective, considering how professional degree programs can contribute to the integrated development of Innovation, IndustrY, Capital and Talent chains. He urged the university to shoulder responsibilities and bolster support, and turn the exploration of talent development into a new driving force for workplace reform. He encouraged the university to take a long-term view and embrace the society, and transform the concept of industry-education integration into a new mechanism for talent training. He also requested the university to take the initiative and make practical efforts, and turn the reform of professional degrees into a new driving force for SUIBE’s development.
At the meeting, Hao Chengcheng, the Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School, made a special report on SUIBE’s comprehensive reform plan for professional degree graduate education.
