Ten projects of SUIBE secured funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), according to the review results recently released by the foundation. Three of the projects were General Program Projects, while the rest seven Young Scientists Fund Projects.
The NSFC is one of the primary funding channels for basic research in China. The number of NSFC projects and the amount of funding to some extent reflect the capability of basic research of a university. Furthermore, General Program Projects and Young Scientists Fund projects are the two most extensive categories within the NSFC project series, serving as crucial indicators of the level of basic research.
