On the morning of July 2nd, SUIBE held the commendation meeting to mark advanced groups and individuals in the think tank work for academic year 2023-2024 in Room 510 of the comprehensive building at Gubei Campus of SUIBE. Participants included Qi Ming, Secretary of the university council, SUIBE President Wang Rongming, Vice President Jiang Xiuzhen, and Cheng Lingzhi, an official with the CPC Shanghai Municipal Working Committee of Education and Health, among others.
Qi Ming praised the achievements made in the university’s think tank development. He expressed his gratitude to the SUIBE's superior departments for their concern and guidance, as well as to all faculties, departments, and researchers for their concerted efforts and hard work. He also congratulated the groups and individuals honored at the meeting. Qi Ming noted that the achievements of the university’s decision-making consultation have consistently ranked first among universities administrated by Shanghai municipal authorities and top among all universities in Shanghai. SUIBE’ decision-making consultation has also been selected as a municipal-level decision-making consultation research base and a key think tank, signifying that the university’s work in this field has developed into a new stage. He demanded the university to accurately set the direction, grasp the requirements of think tank development and decision-making consultation in the new era, adhere to the Party’s management of think tanks and the principle of “interdisciplinary and integrated consultation,” demonstrate the characteristics of SUIBE in its international, economic and trade studies, and continuously enhance the capacity of university’s think tank to serve high-level opening-up. He also encouraged the university to innovate mechanisms, create a pilot and model for universities administrated by Shanghai municipal universities authorities leveraging its role as the first university decision-making consultation research base established by the Municipal Party Committee of Education and Health Work. Finally, he requested the university to strengthen team building, improve the evaluation system for decision-making consultation achievements, accelerate the cultivation of young talents, provide comprehensive support services for experts and scholars to participate in research, aiming to form a sustainable talent team.
At the meeting, Wang Rongming and Cheng Lingzhi jointly presented awards to the advanced groups and individuals in the think tank work. Jiang Xiuzhen read out the Decision on Commending Advanced Groups and Individuals in the Think Tank for Academic Year 2023-2024.
