On June 28th, SUIBE held a meeting on undergraduate education and teaching for 2024 in Room 526 of the information building at Songjiang Campus. SUIBE President Wang Rongming and Vice President Xu Yonglin attended the meeting. The theme of the meeting was “Focusing on Targeted Cultivation of Urgently Needed Talents in Specific Fields to Promote the Development of High-Quality Education System in the New Era”. Xu Yonglin presided over the meeting.
Wang Rongming said that the meeting aimed to exchange ideas on the reform and development of undergraduate education in the new era, serving as both a critical review of current teaching efforts and a strategic blueprint for future development. He demanded the university to innovate mechanisms, transform models, and build platforms to advance the targeted cultivation of talents urgently needed in specific fields. He also urged the university to accurately identify changes, adeptly respond to them, and work to steer them in a favorable direction to promote AI-driven education. Finally, he encouraged the university to deepen industry-university integration and foster high-quality collaborative education.
The meeting also reviewed and approved revisions to undergraduate programs and teaching plans, the establishment of new undergraduate majors and micro-majors, as well as amendments to teaching management documents such as the Implementation Plan for Graded Teaching of Mathematics.
