"Memories of SUIBE: A Special Exhibition on the SUIBE Histroy and Culture" Kicks off on Gubei Campus

On the afternoon of May 20th, the Memories of SUIBE: A Special Exhibition on SUIBE History and Culture ,hosted by the Archives, History museum, and Museum of SUIBE, kicked off at Gubei campus of the university. Zhou Hanmin, member of the Standing Committee of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, chairman of the Shanghai Public Diplomacy Research Institute Council, and an outstanding alumnus of SUIBE, together with Wang Rongming, SUIBE president, Zhang Yiguo, Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, and heads of various departments of SUIBE as well as representatives of students and faculty members, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Yiguo.



In his speech, Zhou Hanmin said he was delighted to make remarks on such a significant occasion of the university as an alumnus. He noted that this exhibition was of great significance as it presented the history of the university in a vivid form. Highlighting the university’s fine tradition of pursuing studies to serve the country, he said the conduct and academic spirit of his mentors, Professor Qiu Shaoheng and Professor Wang Yaotian, are like a spiritual monument, forever inspiring all people in the university to forge ahead bravely.


Wang Rongming, in his speech, likened the history of a university to atextbook that guides the university’s efforts in fostering integrity and promoting rounded development of people, saying it is the cultural essence of the university. He expected that this special exhibition wouldhelp better explore the spiritual value of the university's history, tap deeper into the potential of the university’s historyin education, and better highlight the university's sense of responsibility, inheritance, and innovation.


At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Wang Rongming presented an exclusive set of documents to Zhou Hanmin on behalf of the university, and they jointly unveiled the exhibition. Following the opening ceremony, Ding Yi, Deputy Director of the Archives of SUIBE and Director of the SUIBE Museum, guided a tour of the exhibition.
