He hopes that SUIBE would strengthen its cooperation with the WTO to contribute to the organization’s technical assistance projects.

Qi Ming said in his welcome speech that SUIBE came into being to fulfill the mission of building China into a trading powerhouse, prospers because of China’s opening up to the outside world, thrives because of reform in all fronts, and takes a new lease of life because of the cause of opening up in the new era. In January this year, SUIBE set up the School of International Organizations, to enhance the global competence of students. The school aims to cultivate professionals who are familiar with the policies of the Country and China's national conditions, proficient in the use of foreign languages, informed of the international rules with a global vision, and well versed in international negotiations. The university will continue to inherit its traditional characteristics, give full play to its disciplinary advantages on foreign trade and economic research, with the purpose of assisting China in providing Chinese solutions to the WTO reform, and making greater contributions to expanding the research network of global economic and trade governance.
