On the afternoon of May 7th, Zhang Junli, Deputy Secretary-General of the China International Chinese Education Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the Foundation), led a delegation to SUIBE to investigate the operation of Confucius Institutes. SUIBE President Wang Rongming met with Zhang Junli and her delegation.
At a seminar, Zhang Junli briefed on the background and main responsibilities of the Foundation, the latest progress in the brand operation, the development and further planning of the Confucius Institute under the current international situation, and the background of this inspection visit.
Wang Rongming highlighted that SUIBE has developed an integrated talent cultivation system encompassing undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. The university has also established distinctive strengths in talent development, discipline layout, strategic services, and think tank construction.In terms of Confucius Institute (Classes) development, with the support of the former Confucius Institute Headquarters and the Foundation, SUIBE has been dedicated to expanding international Chinese education in Central and Eastern European countries over the years. As a result, four Confucius Institutes (Classes) have been established. So far, these four Confucius Institutes (Classes) and their seven affiliated Confucius Classes have all achieved significant progress.
Zhang Junli said that the Foundation will continue to support SUIBE’s featured development of Confucius Institutes (Classes), encourage the the university to construct Model Confucius Institutes, and support SUIBE to expand overseas cooperation through the platform of Confucius Institutes (Classes), so as to enhance the university’s internationalization and enable SUIBE Confucius Institutes (Classes) to play a bigger role in the coordinated development of Central and Eastern Europe.
