Deputy Consul General of Ireland in Shanghai AlanRalph Visits SUIBE

On the afternoon of April 23rd, Alan Ralph, Deputy Consul General of Ireland in Shanghai and Chinese Assistant Cheng Huihui of the consulate general visited SUIBE. SUIBE vice president Xu Yonglin met with the delegation at Songjiang campus.


 

Xu Yonglin extended a warm welcome to Alan Ralph and his delegation and provided an in-depth overview of the university’s discipline characteristics, talent cultivation advantages, scientific research achievements, and think tank development, as well as the construction of an Irish Research Center and achievements in international cooperation with Irish higher education institutions. He said SUIBE is ready to strengthen exchanges with Irish universities, so as to contribute to promote cultural exchanges, education, and economic and trade cooperation between the two countries


 

Alan Ralph expressed gratitude to SUIBE’s ardent reception and congratulations on the university’s achievements, and introduced the working emphases of the Consulate General of Ireland in Shanghai. He indicated his willingness to continuously support SUIBE's inter-university cooperation, cultural exchange, and teaching and research in Irish studies.


 

After the meeting, AlanRalph and his delegation had a discussion with representatives of SUIBE’s teachers and students, exchanging views on country and regional studies and the Overview of Irish Education System. The Irish side introduced the modern education system and characteristics of Ireland.
