On the morning of April11th, Jurica Pavicic, Dubravko Majetic, Vice Rectors of University of Zagreb, Nebojsa Stojcic, Vice Rector of University of Dubrovnik, Kresimir Jurak, Local Director of Confucius Institute at the University of Zagreb, visited the Songjiang Campus of SUIBE. XuYonglin, vice president of SUIBE, met with the visiting delegation at Information Building, Songjiang Campus.
XuYonglin warmly welcomed the visiting delegation, and provided an overview of the university’s history, features, talent development orientation, and internationalization strategy, particularly highlighting its collaboration with European universities. He emphasized that over the course of 14 years, the Confucius Institute jointly established by SUIBE and the University of Zagreb has played a positive role in promoting international Chinese language education and facilitating cultural and economic exchanges between China and Croatia. He expressed the hope to enhance cooperation with Croatian universities in high-level talent cultivation, innovative curriculum development and academic research in the field of digital economy and governance, as well as to expand collaboration in areas such as cultural exchange, talent development, cooperative research, and facilitating bilateral economic and trade exchanges.
Jurica Pavicic, on behalf of the visiting delegation, expressed sincere gratitude for the warm welcome extended by SUIBE. He hoped for future collaborations in various fields between Croatian universities, including the University of Zagreb, and SUIBE. He also hoped for fruitful outcomes from the discussions held during this visit.
During the meeting, NebojsaStojcicshared information onsummer programs and the potential for joint research, proposing the establishment of a Confucius Classroom at the University of Dubrovnik. Sanja Sever Malis, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Zagreb, expressed a strong willingness to promote faculty and student exchanges and looked forward to in-depth cooperation with SUIBE in areas such as digitalization and internationalization. IvanMalbasic, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics at the University of Zagreb, expressed a desire to deepen exchange programs with SUIBE and promote interdisciplinary high-level talent development.
