SUIBE Holds 2023 Summary and Commendation Meeting on Admissions and Employment Work

On the morning of March 22nd, a meeting to summarize and commend SUIBE's 2023 admissions and employment efforts and to launch the 2024 admissions and employment initiatives convened in Room 526 of the Information Building at the Songjiang Campus. Qi Ming, Chairman of the University Council, along with President Wang Rongming, Vice Chairman of the University Council Wu Yi and Zhang Yiguo (also the Discipline Inspection Secretary), and Vice Presidents Xu Yonglin and Jiang Xiuzhen, attended the meeting.


Qi Ming announced a decision to commend those who had made outstanding contributions to the university’s admissions and employment work in 2023. Awards were presented to “Outstanding Groups” and “Advanced Individuals” in both admissions and employment, as well as to the “Outstanding Examples” in Shanghai’s university graduate employment and the “Best Employers” recognized by Shanghai University of International Business and Economics.


Wang Rongming requested relevant staff members to further elevate their political stance and engage in admissions, training, and employment tasks with a high sense of responsibility. He urged every department and college to assume their responsibilities and mobilize every faculty member. He also stressed the importance to make institutional innovation, strengthen the linkage among admissions, training, and employment, promote the reform and innovation of talent cultivation models, take the adjustment of admission structure and scale as a major tool for optimizing the pattern of disciplines, thereby supporting national strategies and Shanghai’s construction of the five centers in economy, finance, international business, shipping and technology. 


Xu Yonglin reviewed and summarized the undergraduate admissions work for 2023, analyzing the opportunities and challenges the university faced. Xu Jiliang, a member of the University Council, reviewed and summarized the employment work for 2023, discussing the challenges expected for the employment of the Class of 2024 graduates.
