On the morning of March 8th, SUIBE held a meeting to mark the 114th anniversary of the International Women's Day and to commend outstanding members of the trade union in Conference Room 526 of the information building in Songjiang Campus. Vice Chairman of the University Council and trade Union chairman Wu Yi attended and addressed the meeting.
On behalf of the University Council, Wu extended festive greetings and best wishes to all females of the university, and warmly congratulated the outstanding units and individuals who received commendations. He appealed to the attendees to keep to the correct political orientation, and fulfill their responsibilities as females in the new era with a stronger sense of history and initiative. He hoped them to seek beauty from efforts, be builders of great causes, advocates of civilized practices, and be strivers of pursuing dreams, and show their charms in their splendid lives. Also, he demanded the second-level Party organizations, trade unions and women's organizations to adhere to their functional roles, and constantly create conditions and build platforms to gather women's strength.
The awards in the trade union system and the winner of “female models” were announced in the meeting, and then a ceremony was held to award certificates and medals to outstanding units and individuals.
