SUIBE Hosts “2023 International Investment and Financial Cooperation Forum” at 6th CIIE

On the afternoon of November 8th, the “2023 International Investment and Financial Cooperation Forum” was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the venue of the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE). The forum, jointly hosted by the Accounting Society for Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of China and SUIBE, centered the theme “Digital Empowerment and Innovation-driven, Building a New Landscape for International Investment and Financing Cooperation.”

Zhou Hanmin, member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and former Vice-Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference, and WangRongming, SUIBE president, delivered remarks.

ZhouHanmin emphasized that, against the backdrop of digital economy, it is necessary to enhance international investment in the digitization and industrialization of relevant industries in Arab countries to better promote economic cooperation between China and Arab nations. He also underscored the importance of continuing to promote the development of digital trade and enabling more people to enjoy the convenience of trade through cross-border e-commerce, thereby providing new business opportunities for bilateral trade between China and Arab countries.

WongRongming highlighted the significance of disciplinary innovation as a crucial support for driving international cooperation in investment and financing. SUIBE, with applied economics as its leading discipline, is actively building an open economic discipline cluster focusing on “international trade, international investment, international finance, international cooperation, and international governance.” SUIBE is aligning with the construction of new liberal arts disciplines, leveraging new technologies to empower education, accelerating the training of talents for the digital economy, and intensifying efforts to strengthen interdisciplinary integration. This approach aims to construct a more comprehensive and diversified talent cultivation system to meet the new demands of the digital era, providing robust support for international cooperation in the field of investment and financing.

The forum also featured a launch ceremony of the Global Investment Center that included keynote speeches, roundtables, business exchanges, and project signings.
