On October 26th, an academic forum was held in Conference Room 213 of the Information Building to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship Between China and Japan. The Academic Forum was co-sponsored by SUIBE and the Shanghai Association for Japanese Studies and co-organized by the School of International Business, Japanese Economic Research Centre, Overseas-educated Scholars Association of SUIBE and SUIBE branch of China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD). Faculty and students representatives from SUIBE and members of research institutions of other universities and media outlets attended the forum. Chen Zilei, Director of SUIBE Japanese Economic Research Centre hosted the forum.
The Academic Forum was addressed by Yang Bojiang, Director of Institute of Japan Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Science, Song Yaoming, Minister(Economic and Commercial) of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Japan and Yin Yao, chairman of the University Council of SUIBE.
Zhou Hanmin, Chairman of the Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association and former Vice-Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference and NAKAO Takehiko, Chairman of the Institute, Mizuho Research and Technologies and former President of the Asian Development Bank delivered academic reports.
