SUIBE held the opening ceremony for the Class of 2023 on September 15th in Lecture Hall 507, Graphic Information Building, Songjiang campus. The ceremony was attended by Zhou Hanmin, outstanding alumnus of the Class of 1982, member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Director of the Shanghai Chinese Vocational Education Association, Chairman of the Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association, former Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association, Vice-Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of China National Democratic Construction Association, Dean of the Shanghai Municipal College of Socialism, and Yin Yao, chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, Wang Rongming, SUIBE president, Qi Ming, vice chairman of the University Council and vice president of SUIBE, Wu Yi, vice chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, Zhang Yiguo, vice chairman of the University Council and secretary of discipline inspection commission of SUIBE, and SUIBE vice presidents XuYonglin, as well as the Class of 2023.
Wang Rongming, on behalf of all students and faculty, extended warm welcome and heartfelt congratulations to all freshmen as they started a new journey of life. He briefly introduced theglorious history of SUIBE working in synergy with national strategies, the university's commitment toeducating talents for the Party and the country, and the university's strong momentum of development.
He Huanlang, dean of the School of International Business and Economics, delivered a speech on behalf of the faculty. Ni Shiyuan, an undergraduate freshman from the School of Law, Huang Jiawei, a postgraduate freshman from the School of Languages, and Equatorial Guineanfreshman Allen from School of Financemade remarks as student representatives.
During the ceremony, SUIBE leaders and guests presented university badges and booklets of SUIBE history to freshman representatives. All freshmen wore the badges and officially became members of the SUIBE family.
