On August 1st, SUIBE officially kicked off the 2023 Applied Microeconometrics Summer School, themed “Economic Research in the Real World”. The summer school included both offline and online classes. Professor Zhang Yiguo, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SUIBE Committee and Secretary of CPC SUIBE Commission for Discipline Inspection attended the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Zhang Yiguo pointed out in his speech that this year, the summer school adhered steadfastly to its longstanding principles, emphasizing the pursuit of Economic Research in the Real World, and invited a distinguished cohort of renowned economists to serve as keynote speakers. He hoped the summer school a great success and all the teachers and students would have fruitful result in the 11 days.
After the ceremony, Xi Xican from Fudan University, delivered the first academic lecture of this year's summer school to the participants, which focused on the Structural Transformation of the Chinese Economy.
