On July 4th, the kick-off meeting for the assessment, evaluation, and advancement of undergraduate education teaching was held in Conference Room 526 of the Information Building. The meeting was attended by Wang Rongming, SUIBE president, Qi Ming, vice chairman of the University Council and vice president of SUIBE, and Xu Yonglin, vice president of SUIBE. Ping Hui, the Chief Inspector of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the Director of the Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government Education Supervision Committee, also joined the meeting.
In his speech, Wang Rongming gave a detailed introduction to the construction of SUIBE's new liberal arts and new engineering, the new “1+1+X” model for training compound talents, the integrated education of liberal arts, the integrated education of liberal arts and science, school of modern industry. He stated that we would thoroughly study and understand the advice and concrete requirements put forth by the expert panel, and work hard to implement the tasks for rectification.
Xu Yonglin made a detailed report on the progress of the SUIBE’s self-assessment and self-construction in terms of improving the organizational work mechanism, conducting extensive publicity and mobilization, carrying out comprehensive self-assessment and self-construction, and the next-step plan for the assessment work.
In his speech, Ma Qinrong, the former Secretary of the CPC Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Committee and the leader of the assessment and construction instruction expert group, fully recognized the solid work done by the SUIBE’s leadership and various departments in the early stage. He hopes to fully utilize the consultative evaluation, and that the expert panel and SUIBE will carry out self-assessment and self-construction work with concerted efforts.
Ping Hui fully recognized the effectiveness of SUIBE’s early assessment and construction work in his speech, explained the importance of self-assessment and self-construction, the purpose and significance of carrying out the assessment and construction instruction, and raised requirements for the follow-up self-assessment and self-construction work of SUIBE.
