Themed “Promoting China's High-Level Opening-Up Under the New Development Pattern”, the 7th Young Scholars Forum: National Collaborative Group of Universities on International Trade Disciplines was held on June 17th and 18th at the Songjiang Campus of SUIBE. The forum, guided by the National Collaborative Group of Universities on International Trade Disciplines, was co-hosted by the Collaborative Group’s Young Scholars Forum Secretariat and SUIBE, and organized by the School of International Business of SUIBE and the Shanghai Association of International Trade.
At the opening ceremony, Wang Rongming pointed out in his speech that it was particularly necessary to convene this forum in a timely manner and set its theme. It is expected that all experts and scholars can exchange ideas at this academic forum, not only to spark new ideas, but also to build consensus and friendship, so that they can jointly contribute their wisdom and strength to promoting the development of China’s international trade disciplines, he said.
Experts delivered keynote speeches on such topics as “interdependence and the cost of decoupling”, “synergetic and coordinated development of two markets and two resources from a value chain perspective”, “cross-border mergers and acquisitions under trade protectionism” and “Africa's debt problem and China's sovereign debt governance”.
In the following three parallel forums for young scholars, scholars shared and exchanged views on topics such as “Trade liberalization, skills complementarity and the reallocation of heterogeneous labour between enterprises”, “Digital trade development and enterprise labour force employment: creation or substitution”, and “The impact of digital infrastructure development on enterprise supply chain security”.
