On May 16th, a delegation from Anqing, Anhui province visited SUIBE and attended a series of events, including the launching ceremony of “Attracting Investments and Talents” held for Shanghai colleges and universities, an on-campus job fair titled “Anqing: A Promising Land for Talents”, a seminar on open economy and the signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement between SUIBE and the Anqing Municipal People's Government.
The members of the delegation included Zhang Xiang’an, vice chairman of Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Anqing municipal committee, Lv Dong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Anqing municipal committee and vice mayor of Anqing, Li Mingyue, member of the Standing Committee and director of the organization department of the CPC Anqing municipal committee, Xu Xiong, member of the Standing Committee, director of the united front work department of Anqing and secretary general of CPC Anqing municipal committee, Zhang Jian, member of Anqing municipal government’s CPC Committee, secretary of CPC working committee and director of administrative committee of Anqing economic development zone, and Ye Linxia, chairman of the college council of Anqing Medical College.
SUIBE president Wang Rongming, Qi Ming, vice president and vice chairman of the University Council, Wu Yi, vice chairman of the University Council, Zhang Yiguo, vice chairman of the University Council and secretary of discipline inspection commission and vice president Xu Yonglin attended the events.
Zhang Xiang’an introduced Anqing and the city’s human resources policy on the launching ceremony. He invited students and talents from all walks of life to start a business, settle down and exchange ideas in Anqing.
Wang Rongming said in a speech he delivered at the ceremony that he hopeed more and more talents could find their way to success on this promising land through Anqing’s “Attracting Investment and Talents” policy.
Zhang Xiang’an also presented special gift to SUIBE, a calligraphy work reading the university’s motto “Stay Honest, Inclusive, Knowledgeable and Pragmatic”. Li Mingyue and Wu Yi jointly inaugurated a talent work station, a comprehensive service platform for talents.
On the on-campus job fair that followed, nearly 1,000 jobs were presented by over 30 colleges and universities, state-owned enterprises and some key enterprises from Anqing. Policy consultations and job interviews were joined by students.
On the seminar after the launching ceremony, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on deepening cooperation between local governments and universities, contributing to the national strategy of promoting integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and promoting high-level opening up of sub-regions.
Zhang Xiang’an elaborated on the significance of the cooperation between local governments and universities. He also analyzed the backgrounds and advantages of each side in the cooperation, and looked forward to the bright prospect of the cooperation.
Wang Rongming hoped that the two sides could strengthen communication, fully implement the matters of cooperation, and accelerate the implementation of their strategic cooperation, so as to write a splendid chapter of the cooperation between local governments and universities.
On behalf of the Anqing Municipal People's Government and SUIBE respectively, Lv Dong and Xu Yonglin jointly signed the strategic cooperation agreement on the seminar.
