The 2023 Expert Consultation Meeting on Statistical Discipline was held on the Gubeicampus of SUIBE on April 9th. The meeting was hosted by the School of Statistics and Information of SUIBE and co-organized by the big data sub-association of Chinese Association for Applied Statistics. SUIBE vice president XuYonglin and professor from East China Normal University Wang Jinglong attended the meeting.
In a speech, XuYonglin introduced SUIBE's discipline development from the perspective of the university's history, features nd talent training achievements, hoping experts would give advice on the development of the statistics discipline, academic research, the faculty building and the talent cultivation.
Dean of the School of Statistics and Information of SUIBE, Zhang Riquanbriefed the experts attending the meeting on the history of the School of Statistics and Information, faculty, talent training, student work, social services, and so on. Eight young and middle-aged lead teachers of the school reported on their personal background and academic achievements. The experts at the meeting had a heated discussion on their reports, as well as the training of young talents and the development of the discipline of statistics, and proposed opinions and suggestions.
