On March 21st, SUIBE held the 2023 symposium on teachers’ moral education and talent cultivation, which was themed “Foster Virtue through Education, Be Concentrate, and Pursue High-quality Development Driven by Talent”. Yin Yao, Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, and Wang Rongming, SUIBE president joined the event. Wu Yi, Vice Chairman of the University Council of SUIBE presided over the symposium.
Wang Rongming pointed out that with a clear theme, the symposium blew the clarion call of “Gather Strength and Set off” in SUIBE’s talent cultivation in the new era and new journey, and further created a good atmosphere in which “everyone aspires to, strives to and is able to become talents, and everyone can show their talents” to strengthen the talent-driven impetus and build a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the university.
Wang Rongming emphasized further deepening understanding on the following three aspects. He said the university should deeply understand the importance of talent cultivation and foster strategic thinking of talent-driven development, avoid following suit, stiffness, and “one solution for all” in talent layout, talent use and talent services, ensure down-to-earth talent cultivation, grasp the “open” characteristics of talent cultivation, and promote talent cultivation in an organized manner.
In the summary of the meeting, Wu Yi put forward that it is necessary to establish a firm and correct political orientation and lay a solid foundation of ideals and beliefs; it is necessary to hold the belief that talent is the primary resource and to cultivate high-quality faculty; it is necessary to promote the norms of respecting teachers and valuing education, and to create a good atmosphere of advocating morality and virtue.
