SUIBE Branch of Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association Holds Third General Meeting


On the afternoon of October 25, the SUIBE branch of the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA) held its third general meeting.



 

Vice President Huang Xiaoguang of SORSA, on behalf of the association, congratulated the SUIBE branchon the successful convening of the meeting and hoped that the new Council would lead the members to provide effective, distinctive and high-quality decision-making consulting services in line with the strategic development needs of Shanghai and China. He also hoped that the new Council would consolidate organizational construction, attract more outstanding members, strengthen the training of young backbone members, and enhance cross-branch and cross-platform exchanges, tobuild a warm home of unity andstruggling spiritfor overseasreturnees.



 

On behalf of the SUIBE University Council, Qi Ming, SUIBE vice president and vice chairman of the University Council, expressed his gratitude for the long-term care and support from the SORSA and the efforts and achievementsmade bythe previous council and all of its members. He warmly welcomed the new council elected by the SUIBE branch, hoping that the SUIBE branch would play its duerolesas a talent pool for overseas returnees, a think-tank for advising and making suggestions, and a vital non-governmental force for diplomacy. He also hoped that the SUIBE branch would act more proactively and make greater contributions with a focus on national strategies, Shanghai's economic and social development and the essential work of SUIBE.



 

On the meeting, Chen Zilei, FengTiyi, Huang Hui, Ma Mulan, Xia Wei, Yan Haiyan, Zhan Debin, Zhao Qian were elected as directors of the third Council of the SUIBE Branch. In the subsequent first meeting of the third Council of the branch, Chen Zilei was elected as the president of the third Council, Yan Haiyan and Zhan Debin as vice presidents, Zhao Qian as the secretary-general.
